How to generate InPost labels from Shopify orders

A step-by-step guide from the InPost API token to a PDF A6 label generated directly from a Shopify order.

You can generate InPost parcel locker labels directly from a Shopify order after connecting your InPost account or Apaczka account in the app settings. Open the order, choose the label action, select parcel size, generate the label, and download the PDF A6 file.

This removes the manual copy-paste step between Shopify and InPost Manager. The selected locker data is already saved on the order, so the app can use it when it creates the shipment.

What you need before you start

You need the InPost Paczkomaty app installed and configured, a Shopify order where the customer selected a pickup point, and a label account connected in the app settings.

For ShipX labels, connect your business InPost account with an API token from InPost Manager. The ShipX API documentation describes the carrier API used for shipment creation. If you do not have your own InPost contract, the app can also create parcel locker labels through a prepaid Apaczka account.

The label feature works on Shopify Basic and Grow. The app does not need Carrier-Calculated Shipping to let customers pick a locker and later generate the label from the order.

Step 1: create an InPost API token

Log in to InPost Manager. Check that your company and invoice details are complete, then open the API section, find API ShipX, generate the token, reveal it, and copy it.

The app uses this token to create shipments on your InPost account. It is the only ShipX credential you need to paste into the label settings.

Step 2: connect the label account in the app

In Shopify, open the app, go to Settings, then Integrations, and find the label creation section. Paste the InPost API token into the InPost API Token field and save the settings. Shopify's order management documentation is the reference point for the order screen where merchants later work with those shipments.

If you use ShipX, the sender name printed on the label can come from the Label Sender Name saved in the app settings. If that field is empty, the app keeps the carrier account's existing sender-name behavior instead of inventing a name from Shopify store data.

The sender phone is saved separately in the app settings. For Apaczka, the sender is configured as an address in the Apaczka sender card.

Step 3: generate the label from a Shopify order

Open a Shopify order that has an InPost pickup point saved on it. Click More actions, choose the label action, select parcel size A, B, or C, and click Generate label.

When the label is ready, the app shows the selected pickup point and the tracking number. Download the PDF A6 file, print it, and place it on the parcel.

After the label is generated, the app creates a Shopify fulfillment with tracking company, tracking number, and tracking URL. Shopify's shipping confirmation is sent only when the shop has turned that fulfillment notification setting on. The setting is off by default.

If you do not have an InPost contract

Use Apaczka instead of ShipX. In the same Integrations area, connect the Apaczka prepaid account, configure the sender details, and generate labels for parcel locker orders from Shopify.

If you send more orders

For larger operations, the app can pass the selected pickup point to order management systems. BaseLinker receives the selected locker data on the order, and Apilo can create InPost labels automatically for orders delivered to a pickup point.

Common problems

If the app asks you to connect the InPost account first, the ShipX API token is missing. Generate it in InPost Manager and save it in the app settings.

If InPost Manager does not let you generate the token, check your account details and invoice details in InPost Manager. The API access depends on a complete business account setup.

If the order has no pickup point, first check whether the customer selected the point before checkout or after purchase. The app needs the selected pickup point on the order before it can build a parcel locker shipment.

Summary

InPost label generation in Shopify comes down to one setup step and a short order action. InPost by Progus supports the flow after the merchant connects ShipX or Apaczka, opens the Shopify order, chooses the parcel size, generates the label, and downloads the PDF A6.
